About the conference

Modernist Archives in Context: Periodicals and Performance is a two-day conference to be held at the University of Reading on the 22 and 23 November 2018. The conference aims to engage in discussions surrounding Samuel Beckett’s involvement in early Modernist periodicals and his creative relationships in theatre. It encourages papers that look at Beckett and other Modernist authors. Thanks to support from the Samuel Beckett Research Centre at the University of Reading, the conference will use the Beckett archive to explore the diverse literary and performance networks that continue to spread across disciplines and genres. The conference will be followed by the Beckett International Foundation seminar, to which conference delegates are warmly welcome.

Special guests include Professor Andrew Renton and award winning Irish novelist Eimear McBride.
